Despite facing an eviction notice this past summer, Brownstone Shared Housing has made a new purchase where it hopes to add 400 more ‘sleeping pods’ at $700 a month in downtown San Francisco.
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The founder behind downtown San Francisco’s sleeping pods has purchased another building to expand the operation.
Brownstone Shared Housing made headlines for its $700-a-month sleeping pods.

Although it was later found that they did not have the proper permitting, and were faced with an eviction notice.
Now Brownstone – with the proper permitting – will be keeping their location at 12 Mint Plaza and opening a new one at 1049 Market Street.
According to the SF Chronicle, it will be 10 times bigger than the Mint Plaza building.
Brownstone hopes to have nearly 400 sleeping pods available by this summer.
