Viral video of man dumping flower vendor’s bouquet into North Bay creek sparks debate

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KGO) — A viral video of a man dumping a flower vendor’s bouquets into a Santa Rosa creek is stirring debate as well as criticism of the police department.

This is a still picture from the video. It was taken last Wednesday by the vendor.

You can see the man standing along the side of the roadway. It was part of a heated confrontation over who could be in the median.

Santa Rosa police showed up, and a clip shows officers questioning the vendor on why she thought it was okay to have her child in the middle of the road.

The chief sent out a letter to the community on Thursday.

It reads, in part: “While initial information shows the officers acted promptly and in line with their responsibilities, the department is completing an internal review of this incident to ensure officers followed policies and procedures.”
