SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The first San Francisco teachers’ strike in 47 years, which has closed schools for days, is ending as SFUSD and the teachers union reached a tentative deal early Friday morning.
SFUSD and the United Educators of San Francisco have agreed to a tentative $183 million deal.
The agreement is increasing educators’ salaries and healthcare benefits in a two-year contract. The teachers are getting the equivalent of a 6% raise over two years.
Schools will remain closed on Friday and with holidays on Monday and Tuesday, schools are set to reopen on Wednesday.
