SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — San Francisco’s Eileen Gu is celebrating her accomplishments in the Olympics.
She took to social media, saying, “Most Olympic medals in freeski history. Thank you, Olympics.”
The American Freestyle skier faced a lot of backlash for her decision to compete for China over the U.S. She chose China, where her mother was born.
According to The Athletic, she was even physically assaulted for her decision.
