SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — For a third day in a row, it’s another summerlike day across the Bay Area. It’s hard to believe that spring doesn’t officially start until Friday.
Here in San Francisco, it got into the mid 90s. In the East Bay, it got to nearly 90.
For many, that’s pretty nice weather. But some are wondering why it has gotten so warm, so soon.
Little Blaire knows her ice cream. On a hot day like today, she’s quick to point out what she thinks you should try at Lafayette Scoop in the East Bay.
“Mango,” said Blaire.
Lafayette Scoop offers doesn’t just offer customers a special sweet treat.
“I think the oak goodies is really good,” said Bella Gore at Lafayette Scoop.

For the second day in a row, the business opened several hours early to give customers a chance to cool off.
“It’s really hot. 90 degrees — like 88 today I think,” said Gore.
At Lafayette Wash and Detail, hoses are on full blast. The car wash is seeing big business because it’s so bright and sunny out.
“Of course, right? They see no more rain in the forecast and they’re all here,” said Guadalupe Camarena with Lafayette Car Wash and Detail Center. “We did have a line. I had people calling on the phone. Can you tell me how many cars, if there’s a line? Can you tell me how long it will take if I come right now?”
“It’s unusually hot and I’m perplexed by why it’s getting so hot for our short spell,” said Lisa Orchard of Oakland.
Still, things can heat up quickly if you’re outside all day.
“It’s supposed to be close to 90s. Right now, pretty we’re 80-something,” said Assistant Manager Benjamin Alvarado of Lafayette Car Wash and Detail Center.

Employees here are covering up to protect themselves from the extra warm sun. They have ways to stay cool.
“You see the buckets right there. They are full of water and ice. And if they need a break. Obviously, they could take a break,” said Alvarado.
In San Francisco, visitors and local alike are soaking in the sun. Along the Embarcadero, we bumped into a cruise ship bartender on his day off.
Ask him what he serves cruise ship visitors to keep them cool.
“For me, you can go with a classic mojito- a classic mojito with a little bit of vodka,” said Kunal Jathar from Mumbai, India.
Ask him about the record hot weather here now in the Bay.
“It’s very nice for this hot weather,” said Jathar. “For me it is OK. In India it is very hot because it is more than this.”
The extended heat advisory across the Bay runs through Friday afternoon.
