Chuck Norris, martial arts icon and action star, dies at 86, family confirms

Martial artist and actor Chuck Norris has died at 86 years old.

Norris’s family confirmed the death in a statement on Friday.

“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family,” part of the statement read.

One of Norris’s prominent acting roles was in the series “Walker, Texas Ranger.”

Norris held black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tang Soo Do, and Taekwondo while also training celebrities.

The statement also confirmed reports that Norris was recently hospitalized. The family is keeping the cause of death private at this time.
