SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Muni bus in San Francisco on Tuesday, according to SFMTA on X.
It happened on Geary Boulevard near Kearny Street around 6:50 a.m.

SFMTA said the 38 Geary bus was travelling when the man reportedly fell from the sidewalk before he was hit by the bus.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Per the transit agency’s standard procedures, the Muni driver is undergoing drug and alcohol testing, and has been placed on non-driving status.
SFMTA and the San Francisco Police Department are investigating.
The pedestrian has not been identified.
