Woman sexually assaulted by man with gun while jogging near Stanford campus, police say

STANFORD, Calif. (KGO) — A woman was sexually assaulted by an armed man while she was jogging near Stanford University Sunday night, police say.

University police put out a warning to the public to take steps to protect themselves.

It happened at Mayfield Avenue and Santa Ynez Street.

Police say the man had a gun and grabbed the woman before pushing her into a landscaped area near a house and sexually assaulting her.

No arrest has been made.

Anyone is asked to reach out to the Stanford Department of Public Safety if they have any information.
