Walt Disney Records releases country-inspired album based on classic Disney movie songs

Walt Disney Records is stepping into a whole new world. After the success of Disney classics being reimagined with rock covers in 2024’s “A Whole New Sound,” “Main Street Country” marks the latest Mickey & Friends music series.

“Main Street Country” is a new country-inspired album featuring award-winning country artists putting their spin on Disney songs. The beloved music includes songs sung by Kane and Katelyn Brown, Dasha, BRELAND, Restless Road, and Maddie & Tae.

Katelyn revealed why she picked the tune she reimagined with her husband, “We didn’t really give Kane much of a say in it. One of my most favorite Disney songs, ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ is by far the best.”

BRELAND has been a fan of Disney since childhood. “I feel like some of the first songs that I ever learned as a kid were Disney songs. I don’t know if I would be the artist or the musician that I am today if it weren’t for that upbringing.” He also explained how “Hercules” was so formative for him, creating a “full circle moment” in his life being a part of the “Main Street Country” EP.

Singer-songwriter Dasha was so “honored” to be included in the thrilling country album. “I did the song with my brother, which is so special. Disney is all about family and having fun and laughter, so that’s kind of what we did with the song. And, I’m just really proud about how it turned out.”

“We chose ‘You’ll Be in My Heart’ by Phil Collins from the ‘Tarzan’ soundtrack because we love this movie. Our babies love this movie,” country music duo Maddie & Tae spilled about the “dream come true” project.

Why did Restless Road want to join the “Main Street Country” album? Singer Colton Pack shared, “We all grew up watching Disney. I know that Disney is so special to so many different people. To be able to be a part of such an iconic brand, one that shaped our childhood and so many others is just a really, really special honor for us.”
