SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — A San Francisco tradition appears to have been called off for the third year in a row.
San Francisco Rec and Parks will not be putting on the city’s annual 4/20 celebration on Hippie Hill in Golden Gate Park.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, funding shortfalls led the city to stop sanctioning the event in 2023.

Instead, “SF Space Walk” is organizing a week-long celebration, with social and educational events at dispensaries and cannabis lounges throughout the city.
The festival typically draws some 20,000 people, but organizers once again ran into fundraising issues, citing the cannabis industry’s economic challenges.
