Eastbound bore of Caldecott Tunnel closed due to crash, car fire, CHP says

ORINDA, Calif. (KGO) — The California Highway Patrol has shut down Bore #2 of the Caldecott Tunnel due to a crash and a car.

Officials say the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. in Bore #2, which also impacted Bore #3 as emergency crews worked to get to the incident.

At this time, CHP says there is no estimated time of reopening, and drivers are urged to use an alternate route.
