According to an arrest report, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Organized Crimes Bureau’s Medical Crimes Squad received information from the Florida Department of Health that Mustafa was administering cosmetic injections without a license.
Mustafa was the manager of an aesthetics business on Southwest 7th Street in Brickell, and a Department of Health undercover operative scheduled an appointment at the business with Mustafa, the report said.
At the appointment, Mustafa discussed injecting the operative with Botox, saying the product he’d use was FDA approved, the report said.
Mustafa agreed to inject the operative’s forehead for $599 and showed the operative the vial of the product he was going to use, and a short time later the Medical Crimes Squad entered business and took Mustafa into custody, the report said.
The vial was inspected and determined to be Re-N-Tox, which is an unapproved product from South Korea that cannot be dispensed in the U.S., the report said.
Mustafa was arrested and booked into jail. He appeared in court Thursday where he was granted a $5,000 bond.
