A family of five was displaced on Tuesday after their home in Miami caught on fire, fire rescue said.
According to Miami Fire Rescue, at around 5:03 a.m., crews received reports of a residential fire at 2260 SW 24 Terrace.
Once at the scene, heavy smoke and flames were seen coming out of the home’s garage, prompting firefighters to advance house lines to attack the fire, while other crews searched the home for people.
Fire Rescue said a carport and the garage were fully engulfed in flames, and it took about 10 minutes to control the fire.
All the residents in the home were safely evacuated, including their pets, which included a dog and several birds.
Due to the home receiving smoke damage from the fire, the family and their pets have become displaced, but will be staying with relatives.
An investigation into the fire is now underway.
