A Broward sheriff’s deputy fired shots at an armed person in Oakland Park on Thursday, and the situation is under investigation, according to authorities.
It happened in the 300 block of Northeast 33rd Street.
“Shortly after 7 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications was notified of a possible suspicious person in the area of Northeast 35th Court and Northeast Fifth Avenue in Oakland Park,” BSO said.
Deputies responded and made contact with an armed individual, and at some point, opened fire.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was hurt.
