A former coach at Miami Northwestern Senior High School was alleged for alleged misconduct involving an underage student, authorities said.
Tyresse Leonard Jones, 36, was arrested Wednesday on charges of offenses against students by authority figures, child abuse with no great bodily harm and battery, an arrest report said.

According to the report, an investigation began last week after the teen came forward with allegations against Jones, her former flag football coach at Miami Northwestern.
Jones had initiated interaction and communication with the girl though Instagram and then phone messages, and she said at first the conversations were “friendly and cool,” the report said.
She said at school she would ask Jones to speak with her teachers to excuse her from class once she was done with her assignment, and he complied, the report said.
But Jones later “escalated what she thought was a friendly relationship” and requested she meet him in the locker room several times, the report said.
She said she declined the invitations and Jones got physical, grabbing the front of her jacket in the chest area with both hands, pinning her to the wall against her will and telling her to “stop playing with him,” the report said.
Jones released her but brushed his hand across her breasts, the report said.
At one point the teen said he escalated the conversations and started sending her explicit messages, and told her a few times he would give her money and have her hair and nails groomed in exchange for sex, the report said.
“Man I wanna make U my girl. I aint tryna play U or try U I want U bad,” he wrote in one message, according to the report. “If U doing yo thang with me. Making me feel good. Yeah Ima send ah lil check if i have to.”
Jones, who had been removed from Miami Northwestern, was arrested at JC Bermudez Senior High School where he had been reassigned away from students, officials said.
In a statement Wednesday, Miami-Dade County Public Schools officials said they were aware of the arrest.
“The type of behavior this individual is accused of will not be tolerated as it runs contrary to the professional conduct we expect from all employees,” the statement read. “The District has initiated employment termination proceedings and will ensure the individual is precluded from seeking future employment with the District.”
