A toddler with autism is in stable condition after nearly drowning in a canal in Miami Gardens, police said.
According to Miami Gardens Police, on Saturday, officers received reports of a missing 3-year-old with autism.
Police said that the child’s mother left the toddler inside a vehicle with another child, and they were being supervised by her adult friend.
The toddler then got out of the vehicle and entered Snake Creek Canal.
The child’s mother then found her son in the canal, and fire rescue crews performed life-saving measures, and the child was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital North.
An investigation into the incident remains active.
