5 injured after multi-vehicle crash on I-595 in Broward County, fire officials say

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 595 in Broward County on Saturday injured several people, fire rescue officials said.

According to Broward Fire Rescue, crews arrived near the intersection of State Road 7 and I-595 after receiving reports of a vehicle accident.

Once at the scene, crews found the crash, which involved at least four vehicles and five people who were injured.

Crews extricated people who were trapped in the wreckage, and they were treated at the scene.

Fire rescue said that two people were taken to different hospitals as trauma patients, but did not provide details on the conditions of the three others who were hurt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
