New details were released on Monday after a teacher at Miami Southridge Senior High School was arrested after being accused of inappropriate conduct with a student.
Rudolph Infante, 53, is facing four counts of battery and is being charged with offense against students by authority figures, Miami-Dade Jail records showed.
According to authorities, in February, a victim, who has been a student in Infante’s class since 2025, said she noticed the interactions between them had changed
An arrest report described a series of instances where Infante hit on the student, which involved kissing her chest, even though she repeatedly told him to stop and said she wasn’t interested in him.
As the unwanted advancements continued, Infante was eventually arrested, the report said.
During his court appearance, a judge set Infante’s bond at $14,000, order he be placed on house arrest and ordered him to stay away from all schools.
NBC6 spoke to a student who was in Infante’s class.
“He is the person who takes care of the whole room, the band room, but the other guy was the one teaching the whole room,” the student said. “He would just sit there, giving grades, and if he didn’t feel good, he would make sure you’re not feeling good. He’d just gave you that vibe.”
Miami-Dade County Public Schools, in a statement, said termination proceedings for Infante were underway.
“Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) is disturbed by the allegations made against this individual. Upon learning about this suspected behavior, Miami-Dade Schools Police immediately began their investigation and subsequently made an arrest. This type of behavior will not be tolerated as it runs contrary to the professional conduct we expect from all employees. The District has initiated employment termination proceedings and will ensure the individual is precluded from seeking future employment with M-DCPS.”
