A Los Angeles Police Department officer opened fire in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles Tuesday, with at least two people being injured.
The shooting happened in the area of Alvarado and Olympics boulevards at around 11 a.m., the LAPD said.
Following the shooting, first responders took two people to a hospital. One of them, a 42-year-old man, was in serious condition, the LAPD said.
Police did not have information on the other patient. It was unknown whether the second injured person was an LAPD officer.
It was not immediately what led up to the officer shooting.
Police warned, as the officer shooting investigation continued, the roadways in the area of Alvarado and Olympics will be shut down for “several hours.”
