Looking for someone to spend Valentine’s Day weekend with? On Feb. 13, the Best Friend Pet Adoption Center in West LA is inviting the public to partake in a one-night-only sleepover with one of their furry friends.
“There’s no love like the love of a pet,” said Julie Castle, CEO, Best Friends Animal Society. “By choosing to spend Valentine’s Day opening your heart and home to foster a dog or cat, you might just meet the new love of your life.”
To foster a pet on Valentine’s eve simply stop by the Pet Adoption Center between 11:00 a.m and 4 p.m and let the Best Friend Adoption team match you with the pet you are most compatible with, complete the sign-up process and the team will provide you with everything you need to take care of the furry friend, including food, treats, toys, and any other necessities they might need.
On Feb. 14, if it’s love at first sight after a one-night stay, you can continue fostering or choose to adopt. Pets who are still available for adoption can be brought back to the adoption center so they can continue meeting potential adopters.
According to the Best Friend Pet Adoption Center, giving pets a temporary home, even just for a night, allows them to decompress and relax while they search for a loving home to call their own.
This temporary recharge does more than just give the animal a break from a shelter, a new survey of animal shelters and rescue groups found that foster programs boosted adoptions by approximately 30% compared to those without.
