Three people are dead, and seven others are in serious condition after a car crashed into a grocery store in Westwood, blocks from UCLA, fire officials said Thursday.
The incident was reported at around 12:10 p.m. at the 99 Ranch Market grocery store on Westwood Boulevard near Rochester Avenue.
Two of the people killed during the incident were outside the market when they were hit by the car, according to LAFD Spokesperson Lyndsey Lantz.
A initial report from the Los Angeles Fire Department indicated multiple people were struck, with some of them being hit before the vehicle slammed into the building.
This is a developing story.
