The Chicago area got socked with one of the worst winter storms it’s seen in years, and snowfall totals piled up across the region.
Most counties saw anywhere from 7-to-10 inches of snow, with the city itself receiving more than eight inches of accumulation, according to the National Weather Service.
As of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, the biggest snowfall total reported in the NBC 5 viewing area came in Rensselaer, Indiana, where 11.5 inches of accumulation were reported.
Suburban Skokie received 10 inches of snow according to the NWS, while Lindenhurst received 10.5 inches of snow.
At Midway Airport, approximately 7.2 inches of snow fell during the storm.
