5 hospitalized after 3-vehicle crash involving semi-truck on I-294 near Oakbrook

Five people were hospitalized Friday after a three-vehicle crash on I-294 involving a semi-truck in the western suburbs of Chicago, authorities said.

Around 9:43 a.m. Friday, Illinois State Police responded to a crash on southbound I-294 near 31st Street in Oakbrook. Three vehicles were involved, authorities said, including a semi-truck.

Five people were transported to local hospitals with injuries, authorities said.

Authorities did not specify the cause of the crash.
