Police respond to swatting incident at Disneyland

The Anaheim Police Department responded to a swatting call at Disneyland Wednesday night linked to two popular livestreamers that turned out to be a swatting call.

Shortly before 10 p.m., officers responded to Disneyland. The theme park in Anaheim was still open at the time but was not evacuated.

A popular livestreamer, known as “Oblivion,” was seen in a video speaking with officers and explaining the situation.

“It’s just a random internet guy that just swatted us,” the livestreamer said.

This swatting call, which was deemed to be a false alarm, was one of three that occurred Wednesday night in Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Following the incident at Disneyland, just before midnight, police swarmed a home in Fullerton after receiving a call about a man with a gun. Officers left after they did not find anything.

Prior to these two swatting calls, Arcadia police responded to another hoax call at The Shops at Santa Anita in the city of Arcadia.

Around 5 p.m., officers responded to the shopping mall with their guns drawn and told shoppers at a Journey’s store to get on the ground.

According to police, someone had made a call making threats with a firearm, which also turned out to be a false alarm.

All three calls appeared to be linked to social media influencers, some of which were streaming live at the time of the incident.

It was not clear if anyone faced any charges.
