2 dead after stabbing in downtown Riverside

Two people are dead following a stabbing early Thursday morning in downtown Riverside.

Police responded at about 2 a.m. to the area near Main and 12th streets, near the Riverside County Superior Court buildings. Firefighter-paramedics provided medical aid, but both died at the scene.

Details about what led to the stabbings were not immediately available. No arrests were reported late Thursday morning.

Nearby streets were closed for the police investigation.
