A Culver City K-9 unit earned top spots at a K-9 competition in Las Vegas, the police department announced Monday.
Officer Crosby and his partner, Kohu, came in first in the toughest dog and tactical obedience categories at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department K-9 Trials Sunday, earned third in top overall dog and placed fourth in explosive detection.
“K-9 Kohu and Officer Crosby’s performance is a reflection of the dedication, discipline and teamwork that define our department,” said Culver City Police Chief Jason Sims. “We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments.”
Last year, Culver City Officer Salazar and K-9 Storm won the toughest dog category.
The Las Vegas Trials are meant to test the real-world skills K-9 teams rely on every day.
Two-year-old Kohu is the police department’s most recent addition to its K-9 unit.
