4 homes burn in Moreno Valley fire, firefighter injured

Firefighters are investigating a fire that damaged four single-family homes in Moreno Valley on Thursday, authorities said. 

The Riverside County Fire Department said they responded to reports of a fire at 13400 Edgemont Street around  5:18 p.m. Upon arrival, the fire prompted a second-alarm response.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital, the department said.

The number of residents displaced by the fire is unknown, but officials said they are expected to seek assistance from the Red Cross. 

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
