LASD deputies involved in shooting in East LA

Police responded to reports of an attempted suicide call in East Los Angeles early Wednesday. 

Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Downey Road around 1:32 a.m.

According to LASD,  they received a call from a man who wanted to hurt himself and shots were heard during the call. 

When deputies were on site, they heard more shots from the residence and a deputy involved shooting occurred, LASD said. 

No deputies were injured but one person was transported. Their condition was not known.
