A child was hospitalized in critical condition after a fire broke out in a house in Chicago’s West Englewood neighborhood Friday.
Around 11 a.m., a fire started in a residence on the 2100 block of West 71st Place, authorities said.
The Chicago Fire Department responded to the scene to fight the blaze.
One child was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, CFD said.
Authorities did not state what the cause of the fire was, though a partially burnt Christmas tree was visible inside the house.
