Two people are dead after a crash involving a big rig that blocked all eastbound lanes on the 210 Freeway in the Sunland area on Friday night, officials said.
The call came in for a multi-vehicle crash just before 10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said a 35-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man had to be extricated and died at the scene. The 43-year-old driver of the semi-truck declined to be taken to the hospital, officials said.
Lanes were expected to remain closed for about an hour, CHP said.
This is a developing story that will be updated as more information arrives.
