A gradual cooldown will be followed by the possibility of a storm that may help Southern California end the week with some showers.
An onshore flow will return to the Southland, bringing with it some continual morning fog for coastal communities to begin the week. Temperatures will remain relatively normal for this time of the year before they take a dip as the week progresses.
“That’s before the bigger change is to come as we look ahead toward the end of the week,” NBC4 Meteorologist Kelley Moody said. “As we look toward Friday and Saturday, we really start to increase those chances for rain.”
The beginning half of the week will be dry, but the possibility of inclement weather will begin after Wednesday.
“This storm system looks to arrive in the state as we look ahead towards your Thursday,” Moody said. “Now, there is the possibility still that this timing could change, and it could make an earlier arrival.”
“For now, this is all going to stay north of us, and it doesn’t really look to move in on Southern California until we make it to Friday and then continue into our Saturday,” Moody said.
Temperatures are forecasted to decrease as the week goes by, with unseasonably low temps during the weekend as the storm peaks. However, the timing of the anticipated storm is not completely set in stone, according to Moody.
“We’re still several days out, so there’s a lot of time for change,” she said.
