Two-time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion Mia Hamm is coming to Los Angeles County next month to help lead a soccer youth camp, just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Hyundai Youth Soccer Camp will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park (Field 5) in Carson on May 30 during two sessions: a morning camp from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and an afternoon camp from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The free youth camp is designed for soccer players of all skill levels, ages 6-12. Parents can register their kids online now; spots are limited.
Parents can also sign up for a chance to win 2026 FIFA World Cup tickets, including two tickets to the Belgium vs. Iran match in LA on June 21.
According to Hyundai — an official partner of the 2026 FIFA World Cup — the hands-on camp will combine “world-class soccer training” and “confidence building activities” alongside the brand activations that are part of the company’s “Next Starts Now” campaign.
“Soccer taught me that greatness isn’t about waiting for your moment but about seizing it,” Hamm said in a press release. “That’s exactly what these young athletes are doing. Hyundai understands that the future is built through opportunity, confidence, and belief. These camps are about more than drills, they’re about inspiring the NEXT generation of leaders on and off the field.”
Hyundai will also host its soccer youth camp in Miami alongside Hamm this month, as well as Atlanta and New Jersey with the help of U.S. Men’s National Team icon Tim Howard.
Irvine beat out nearly 50 other sports facilities to be picked as the training ground for the team. Hetty Chang reports for the NBC4 News at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026.
