Standoff underway in East LA after pursuit

A standoff is underway in East Los Angeles following a pursuit Wednesday morning.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the pursuit took place shortly before 10 a.m. near 7th Street and Towne Avenue in downtown Los Angeles.

It was not clear what initiated the pursuit. The scene remained active as of 10:30 a.m.
