Large pothole forces lane closures on 14 Freeway in Antelope Valley

Caltrans crews will be spending time on the southbound lanes of the SR-14 in the Antelope Valley to fix a large pothole, the California Highway Patrol announced Wednesday.

The pothole appears to be large enough to cause damage to cars.

The CHP said #1 lane will be open on the 14 Freeway near Palmdale Boulevard. Other three lanes will be closed as repair work is underway.

Officials urged drivers to give themselves extra time as traffic along the 14 Freeway could be backed up.
