CalFire issued evacuation warnings and orders in Riverside County near Mead Valley Friday as firefighters worked to extinguish a vegetation fire.
The Rider Fire started burning at 5 acres just before 3 p.m. and grew at a “moderate rate of spread” to approximately 25 acres a little over an hour later, CalFire said on social media.
Most evacuation warnings and orders were rescinded around 4:30 p.m. after officials announced that the fire had stopped spreading.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
