70-year-old woman among 3 shot in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood

A 70-year-old woman was among three people shot Saturday afternoon in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood.

According to Chicago police, the woman was standing in the 5300 block of West Madison just before 2:30 p.m. when an unknown suspect opened fire.

The woman was shot in the foot, and she was rushed to an area hospital in good condition, police said.

A 64-year-old man was also shot in the leg, as was a 33-year-old man. Both men were taken to nearby hospitals, where they were listed in good condition.

No suspects are currently in custody, and an investigation remains underway.
