The 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics are right around the corner, but the games actually begin before many might expect.
While the global sporting event will officially kick off with the Opening Ceremony, several events will actually start before then.
So when do the Olympics start, how long do they last and how can you watch?
When are the Olympics?
The first Olympic events begin on Feb. 4, with alpine skiing and curling. Ski jumping, snowboarding, figure skating and ice hockey will also kick off before the official launch of the Games.
The first medals will be awarded starting Feb. 7.
The Games will continue until the Closing Ceremony on Feb. 22.
What time is the Opening Ceremony?
The Opening Ceremony begins on Feb. 6. Live coverage of the event starts at 1 p.m. CT and is expected to last three hours.
How to watch?
The Opening Ceremony will air on NBC and stream on Peacock and NBC Olympics platforms. It will also be available to watch on those platforms in primetime starting at 7 p.m. CT.
