Roads closed in Niles after pedestrian struck; police warn drivers to find alternate routes

All eastbound and westbound lanes of Touhy Avenue in suburban Niles were closed during the busy Tuesday morning rush hour commute after vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, police asid.

The Niles Police Department posted about the crash, near the Village Crossing shopping center in the 5600 block of Touhy Ave., at 6:39 a.m.

“Please use alternate routes at this time,” the department said.

No further details about the crash or injuries were provided.

As of 7 a.m., Touhy Ave. between Lehigh and Central Avenues were closed, TrafficNet reported.
