A homicide investigation is underway in rural Kankakee County after a 30-year-old woman was found dead at a local bar near the Illinois-Indiana state line Monday morning, with officials asking for the public’s help as they release photos of a car and person of interest in the case.
The update comes hours after the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office on Monday said Courtney Drysdale, 30, of Momence, was found dead inside The Line, a local rural bar along Illinois Route 114.
Shortly after the department’s news release, The Line posted to Facebook that it would be closed “until further notice.”
According to the sheriff’s office, the car of interest in the case appeared to be a silver or white looking sedan. The person of interest appeared to be a man wearing a reflective yellow, black and grey jacket, with a dark colored hat and glasses.
Kankakee CrimeStoppers is offering a $5,000 cash reward for anyone that can help positively identify the person or vehicle in the photos, Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office at 815-802-7150, or Crime Stoppers at 815-93-CRIME. Callers can remain anonymous.
More details are expected to be announced at an 11 a.m. press conference, the sheriff’s office said.
