Delays are expected on Metra’s busy BNSF line Thursday morning after a vehicle struck a bridge, leading to all trains halted briefly during the morning rush hour.
NBC 5 Traffic Reporter Kye Martin described the stoppage, in the 6 a.m. hour, as a “major” transit alert for train riders to and from the western suburbs, with the BNSF as one of Metra’s most-traveled lines.
Metra posted about the stoppage about 6:20 a.m. About 30 mins later, Metra said inbound and outbound trains were on the move, but delays were expected.
