Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is set to deliver his annual State of the State and budget address for fiscal year 2027 Wednesday.
According to the Governor’s office, the address, which will take place in Springfield before a joint session of the legislature, is scheduled for 12 p.m. Wednesday. It will stream in the player above once it begins, and on the NBC Chicago YouTube channel.
Pritzker teased the speech in a post on social media.
“Over the past seven years, we’ve gotten big things done for Illinois,” Pritzker wrote. “And on Wednesday at noon, I will deliver the State of the State and share how we continue to move the Land of Lincoln forward.”
Pritzker also posted a video of his address last year, speaking about the Trump Administration, saying “my message remains the same a year later.”
The budget Wednesday is likely to include calculations for Trump’s plan to pause federal funding for certain programs in blue states, including Illinois. It also comes amid the backdrop of Indiana luring the Chicago Bears to build a stadium there with tax incentives.
According to NBC News, Pritzker is also expected to address the rapid expansion of data centers and call for a two-year suspension on tax incentives for their development.
