Early voting in the 2026 Illinois primary election is already underway, but it will become much more available in coming days.
The March 17 primary looms just over two weeks away, with numerous Congressional seats, a U.S. Senate seat and the governorship of Illinois all on the ballot.
Here is everything you need to know about early voting in your area, and where to find more information on polling places.
Chicago
Early voting remains ongoing at the downtown supersite, located at 137 S. State St., and on the sixth floor of the Board of Elections’ offices, located at 69 W. Washington St.
Beginning Monday, early voting sites will open in all 50 of the city’s wards.
Same-day voter registration is available at all early voting sites, and voters can vote at whichever voting site is most convenient for them.

Cook County
Early voting is set to get underway throughout suburban Cook County beginning on Monday.
The Cook County Clerk’s Office has published a map of early voting locations, which you can find here:
Voters can register to vote at all early voting sites, but must present two forms of identification in those instances.

DeKalb County
Early voting remains ongoing at the Sycamore Campus, located at 200 N. Main St. Early voting will continue through March 16 at the location, and is available to all DeKalb County voters.
Four more sites at the Kingston Friendship Center, the DeKalb Township Building, the Northern Illinois University Student Center and the Sandwich Library will open on Monday.

DuPage County
Early voting remains ongoing at the following locations in DuPage County:
Addison Township Office (401 N. Addison Rd.)
Bartlett Community Center (700 S. Bartlett Rd.)
Downers Grove Village Hall (850 Curtiss St.)
DuPage County Fairgrounds (2015 Manchester Rd., Wheaton)
Naperville Municipal Center (400 S. Eagle St.)

Grundy County
Early voting at the Grundy County Courthouse will run through Mar. 16. The courthouse is located at 111 E. Washington St. in Morris, and voters are reminded that they are not permitted to bring cellphones in the building.
Early voting is also available at the Minnoka village community room and the Coal City Library.

Kane County
Early voting in Kane County continues at the Kane County Clerk’s Office, located at the Kane County Government Center in Geneva, and at the Aurora Satellite Office, located at 5 E. Downer Pl. in Aurora.
Early voting will run through Mar. 16.
Kankakee County
Early voting at the Kankakee County Clerk’s Office has opened at the county clerk’s office, with that building located at 189 E. Court St. in Kankakee.
The Leo Hassett Community Building in Manteno will conduct early voting Mar. 5-7, and the Bourbonnais Municipal Community Building will host early voting Mar. 9-14 ahead of the election.

Kendall County
The Kendall County Office Building, located at 502 S. Main St. in Yorkville, remains open for early voting.
Oswego Village Hall will host early voting beginning on Monday, and will run through Mar. 11.

Lake County
Early voting is underway at the Lake County courthouse in Waukegan, located at 18 N. County St. That voting will run through Mar. 16.
Numerous other locations in Ingleside, Gurnee, Lake Forest and others will open on Monday.

LaSalle County:
Early voting is open at the LaSalle County Governmental Complex, located at 707 E. Etna Rd. in Ottawa.

McHenry County:
Early voting continues at the McHenry County Election Center, located at 410 S. Eastwood Dr. in Woodstock.
More early voting locations, including in Algonquin, Crystal Lake and Lake in the Hills, will open on Monday, according to officials.

Will County:
Early voting remains ongoing at the Will County Clerk’s Office, located at the Will County Office building at 302 N. Chicago St. in Joliet.
