The reversible express lanes on the Kennedy Expressway will be closed this weekend for a repair project, IDOT officials say.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, a fiber optics line will require repair this weekend, and as a result there will be closures of those reversible lanes beginning Friday night.
In addition, the left lane of the outbound Kennedy Expressway between Washington and Ohio will be closed. The exit ramp to Lake Street on the outbound side of the Kennedy will also be closed, as will the Randolph Street ramp onto the highway, according to officials.
The closures are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Friday night, and will be reopened no later than 5 a.m. Monday, according to IDOT.
More information on the work can be found on IDOT’s website.
