Wisconsin authorities are asking for help locating Chesney, a kangaroo they say pulled a “full-on prison break” from a farm in Juneau County earlier this week.
Juneau County Sheriff’s Office said Chesney, pictured wearing what appears to be a denim-printed diaper, was last seen hopping through the area of 23rd and 9th after he escaped from Sunshine Farm in Nacedah, Wis.
Chesney’s owners have been searching for him with a drone, authorities said. They have been providing updates on the Sunshine Farm Facebook page as sightings are reported.
They say he is not wearing his diaper and he is likely scared.
“Please keep in mind he is scared and it is indeed hard to catch a kangaroo,” the farm said in the post.
The sheriff’s office shared an update on Friday on social media that a company called Midwest Aerial Drone Services captured Chesney on video “looking very much like he’s on his own little adventure.”
As of just before 1 p.m. on Friday, the farm posted the following update:
“I have no new updates on Chesney. He was last seen between 4-6 pm off of 23rd St. I have been walking wooded areas and trails with the permission from owners. There is nothing we can do right now until he is spotted – believe me I wish there was. Location wise I don’t know where he is right now so if you are driving around looking for him and you spot him, please know the best thing you can do is to call me at 773-682-8042. Please do not get out of your cars or call him or chase him. It will only scare him further than he must already be. I also wanted to let all of you know that I can’t thank you enough for the support you have showed in helping Chesney return home.”
Echoing the request in the farms post, authorities said anyone who spots Chesney should contact Sunshine Farm directly to make a report.
“Please don’t challenge him to a boxing match. If you spot him, contact Sunshine Farm – Necedah directly at 773-682-8042 so we can get this sweet guy back where he belongs,” the sheriff’s office said.
