A man sitting inside his home in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood early Saturday morning was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting, police said.
The shooting was reported at around 5 a.m. at a residence along South May Street near West 57th Street. Chicago police said a 45-year-old male victim was sitting inside his residence when a grey sedan drove past, and an unidentified offender inside the vehicle fired shots toward the home, striking the victim. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle fled northbound on May Street.
Area One detectives were investigating.
