A person has died after a multi-vehicle crash on the Eisenhower Expressway Sunday morning.
According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred in the inbound lanes of the interstate in Chicago at approximately 2:16 a.m. Sunday.
Troopers were called to the scene of the crash and found three vehicles involved, according to an update from officials.
At least one person was transported to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The left three lanes of the roadway were closed for more than four hours, reopening shortly after 7 a.m., police said.
An active investigation is underway, and no further details were immediately available.
