Joliet police warned some residents to shelter in place during an “active investigation” in the Chicago suburb Thursday morning.
According to an alert posted on social media, police responded around 9 a.m. to the 400 block of Garnsey Avenue for an active incident. Residents in the immediate area were told to shelter in place.
Less than an hour later, police said they were executing a search warrant at a residence “as part of an ongoing investigation.”
Few details were given, but police said updates would be released as they became available.
