Police activity reported in Vernon Hills, public asked to avoid area

Residents were asked to avoid an area of north suburban Vernon Hills due to an ongoing police response Friday night, authorities said.

The Vernon Hills Police Department, writing in a Facebook post, urged the public to avoid Saddlebrook Lane near Museum Boulevard, just north of Hawthorn Mall.

Police didn’t provide additional details, but said the incident was isolated, and there was no threat to the public.
