Don’t let the breezy, cool morning cancel your egg hunt plans this Easter Sunday, sunny skies are on their way, according to the NBC 5 Storm Team.
“We’re off to a very chilly start early this Sunday morning, a lot of us have fallen into the 30s, if you tack on a little bit of a breeze your wind chill values have fallen into the 20s,” NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Claudia Olech said. “So, you’re going to notice that over the next few hours to kick off your Sunday, and it’s all thanks to those wind conditions.”
Wind gusts of up to 20 to 30 miles per hour were still blowing across the area by 8 a.m., according to Olech, but by the afternoon those winds should slowly let go and give way to calmer conditions.
Sunday afternoon should see sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 50s.
Heading into the evening, passing clouds will move through and showers are expected to move in after sunset.
Rain could continue into the overnight hours as a rain moves in from the Wisconsin line, or it could possibly fizzle out before reaching the Chicago area, according to Olech.
The sun should linger through Monday and into Tuesday, Olech said.
Though temperatures heading into the rest of the week remain mild, chances of rain pick up late Tuesday and again Wednesday night into Thursday.
