Death investigation underway after body found in water in Elk Grove Village

A death investigation is underway in Elk Grove Village after police say a body was found in water.

The Elk Grove Village police and fire departments confirmed they were called Thursday afternoon to a report of a person in the water in the 700 block of Innovation Drive. During their search, they said a male’s body was discovered.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office was notified and investigation was launched, police said.

Further details, including an identity or cause of death, remain unclear.

“An update will be provided when more information is learned,” police wrote on social media.
